Self watering reimagined.

Plant care that complements your existing plant products instead of replacing them. Eau Pair is a self watering plant attachment that suits all sizes of plants, and continues to care for them as they grow. Across pots, across plant species, and transcending time, this little device is here to stay. Watering. Lighting. Growing. Living.

The Problem.

Existing plant watering solutions cater to smaller plants without accounting for plant growth over the years, across species and sizes. Solutions only offer new pots that require changing the existing pot. Current self watering pots cause excess watering and no drainage, leading to root rot.

Existing lighting solutions do not cater to larger, heavier plants. They are difficult to install, especially in smaller spaces, and do not account for plant height growth. Current lights are unattractive, glaring light that does not enhance mood. Wall mounted options do not take the weight of larger plants.

Mood lighting.

It all started with researching kindness in the home. Eau pair doubles as plant care, and an attractive lighting addition to the home to combat seasonal depression and those dark days.

Our plant light is different from the rest. Say goodbye to harsh fluorescent lights, and say hello to soft daylight that lights up your home. The light creates a natural gradient aura around the plant rather than harsh rays, making it an attractive light addition to your home.

For the dedicated plant owners.

Designed for long term plant owners who believe that buying a plant is a long term addition to the home. Eau Pair makes it easier to place plants around the home, even in dark corners or in houses with limited natural light. The reservoir reduces the burden of weekly watering.

Eau Pair Components.

How does it work?

4 step setup guide.

Let’s talk about water channeling.

The water reservoir reduces the need for weekly watering. Our standard reservoir holds 600ml of water- enough to water a medium size plant for 4-5 weeks, and a large plant for 3 weeks. This duration will vary across species. For the standard plant owner, this is enough to cover a long vacation, or a busy few weeks at work.

Absorbent cotton wick is channeled through the spokes, the pipe connectors, and into the reservoir. Watering wick can be replaced over time, approximately after a year as needed.

Choose between 2 purchasing options for Eau Pair depending on your plant care needs:
1. Water reservoir + light
2. Only water reservoir

Final prototype.

User testing.

Eau Pair conducted 6 at-home user tests with the functional prototype to gather feedback from 6 real plant owners who have cared for their plants for years. Some of this feedback was implemented between the first and second prototypes, while the rest will be used for the next iteration.

Feedback implemented in prototype 2:

An indicator to show how much water is left in the reservoir

Have two options for the product so the user can choose not to buy the light

Remove light connector nub from reservoir so it does not look odd without the light attached

Thicken the poles of the arms to prevent breakage

Wider reservoir fill opening to prevent spills when refilling

Replace water wick with a more absorbent option that waters the plant more efficiently

Feedback to be implemented:

Add hinge to reservoir lid to prevent misplacement

Add an XL version to the product line for larger, taller plants that have different watering and lighting needs

Important to include a user manual to make it clear how users should use the product correctly

Make the lid out of whiteboard material so users can write the date they last refilled the reservoir with marker

Potential to revise light clip to be removable while reservoir is inside plant

The journey to Eau Pair.

Eau Pair was created after a series of concept sketching and sketch modelling to ideate its form and functionality.
