Form exploration involving the shape of olive oil and vinegar bottles. The bottles design was evolved through a series of sketches and models to arrive at a final solution.
PROCESS:
I began by developing mood boards for three different themes- humor, emotion, and status. Humor was categorized by anything that makes the user laugh; emotion was anything that evoked feeling or a sense of comfort in the user; status was an object that had the ability to provide a sense of elevated status. It was important to distinguish that the status board did not involve objects that were for people of a higher status, but were instead for anyone but had the ability to give an essence of elevated status through the use and form of the object.

SKETCHES: PHASE 1
Sketch development of olive oil and vinegar bottles where 20 sketches were dedicated to each theme (60 sketches total).

SKETCH MODELS:
Simple plasticine models to explore a few forms that were already explored through sketching. The sketch models provided a good idea of how the object would sit, balance and provided insight into ease of production.

SKETCHES: PHASE 2
9 designs were selected and then evolved to find a better solution using the same concept.

SKETCHES: PHASE 3
6 designs were selected out of the previously chosen 9 designs.

SKECHES: PHASE 4
3 final designs were chosen as the 3 best ideas out of all the sketch iterations that were produced. These designs were then analyzed and improved slightly, after which final models were made.

FINAL MODELS:
2 final models were made to understand the structure of the hourglass olive oil and vinegar bottle, and the dual spoon oil and vinegar containers.

PROGRESS FORM:

ORTHOGRAPHICS:
2 orthographics of the hourglass and spoon olive oil and vinegar containers.
